Icicles

Some rays dripped down like icicles
off the sun
In sheets of filth and concrete I went
on the run
Back down in pillowcases my love
Lying face down but looking above
And I'll sit beside you
and sing without you
cause all these things I've seen
they're just empty pockets tearing at the seams
They filled the water tower and
gated it off
They spilled some higher power and
they traded it off
Burn the burning, tear 'em down
An effigy to lethargy, we're leaving you now
And I'll wake a new day
Won't have a lot to say
Cause all these things I've seen
One day we'll awake and it'll seem a funny dream
The bathtub's filled with asphalt
You can barely even shower
But all these things I've seen
One day we will bathe and wash the callous clean
