Frontier Of Time

Yeah, the sun rose today
Guess yesterday couldn't tag along
Empires fall, foundations decay
Doesn't seem to matter if they're strong
One day everything that's left is left behind
To make room for whatever new they find
Just another something that's one of a kind
As they stand on the ashes on the frontier of time

I watch the sand on the beach get swallowed by the waves
As the moon pulls up the tide
And the orange fades to purple shades as the color drains
Into the night sky

I can't help thinking how afraid I am of wasting too much of my life
Trying to get one of these days to change
But every time I watch the rising tide, I realize
Everything begins and ends the same

Yeah, the sun rose today
Guess yesterday couldn't tag along
Empires fall, foundations decay
Doesn't seem to matter if they're strong
One day everything that's left is left behind
To make room for whatever new they find
Just another something that's one of a kind
As they stand on the ashes on the frontier of time

Everyone's dragged by the hands of time
And it pulls like a runaway train
There's so much track it never circles back
And anything behind it rusts in the rain
There's no staying where there's nothing new to find
Only thing to do is keep up with the frontier of time

I watch the world move from what they declare obsolete
Then I watch them do it again
Anything we're not bound to learn, we're bound to repeat
So, we've been going forward without moving ahead

Yeah, the sun rose today
Guess yesterday couldn't tag along
Empires fall, foundations decay
Doesn't seem to matter if they're strong
One day everything that's left is left behind
To make room for whatever new they find
Just another something that's one of a kind
As they stand on the ashes on the frontier of time
