The Show Can't Go On

I'm never gonna tell how I got trapped in my own cell
The doors left open without a key
But I just can't ever bring myself to leave

The lightening threatens, the thunder roars,
And seems so safe to stay dry inside when pours
When they shout, come out to join us, come out to play
But I can never bring myself to sing in the rain

The cruel darkness makes me weak
And my fears threaten to stop me from falling asleep
They'll care for me and ask if they can see
But they'll never see the insecurities

Now I have to face the mess I've made
With nothing left to share, and no one to save
And then the tears start to flow
As hard as it is, I can't go on with the show
