Divisions and Distractions

The red and the blue, the sun and the moon
The yin and the yang, all one and the same
Tranquil and manic go hand-in-hand
War and peace go hand-to-hand
But in the war for peace how many souls decease every time they make cannons blam

I believe I was summoned, to call out corruption
The powers above are something disgusting
How are they stumbling at the top of the summit
While those at bottom must suffer and plummet
The truth's hard to swallow I can't even stomach
We need revolution and I'm gonna run it
To reshape the systems in which we all function
Redeem power and free the means of production
No trust in government their words don't mean nothing
The rich at the top they feed off our suffering

And make us believe the game isn't rigged
Appeal to authority since we were kids
Told us accept "it is what it is"
And gaslight anyone throwing a fit
Land of the free but it's built off of slaves
Ignore our mistakes keep them hidden away
Tuskegee Syphilis, Operation Northwood, MK Ultra, the Bay of Pigs
Our hands covered in dirt we continue to dig
Bury minorities who continue to kick
Who are gasping for air and in need of breath
And have our police put knees on necks
Tie Hispanics to weed Blacks to cocaine
As if white college campuses aren't the same
Redline our houses and ruin communities
Stereotype- all with impunity
Media cycles it isn't their fault
But nothing has changed we did nothing at all
Remember summer and fall with BLM
Repose for their souls we ignored their calls

Look at police when we're slashing their budgets
It's practically nothing a drop in the bucket
Our anger misguided they're only a symptom
But we blame them the headlines convince us
I don't support any act of destruction
But to be honest these activists sucking
Tweet on their Twitter and post on the 'Gram
But they don't understand, they don't want discussion
They feeling accomplished, they boasting so grand
But don't take a stand as if it means something
All of our struggles get turned into trends
By these white saviors making amends
It isn't cute they don't care for the truth
Half only care for approval by friends
Liberal, conservative, dividing our peoples
Been governed by both but still never equal

Trump was a racist
It's easy to say it
Now Biden in office
It's more of the same
On the right side of history
You can do what you want
When you get power, what makes you stop?

I'm no politician, I'm just a musician
My word ain't the Bible this just my opinion
But even the Bible's a collection of thoughts
It's on the reader connecting the dots
To believe in a cause, to think on their own
Or believe in another, reflect on the cost
All that I ask is that you see on your own
Fight for your cause before all is lost
