The Dune Sea
Even the Dune Sea doesn't want me
They say my humor is too dry
They say my bare bones kind of vocal tones
Might leave their ear drums pulverized
And the scorpions, yeah, they crawl away
Keeping one eye back on me
In case I break a stick, or a guitar string
Even they're afraid of my sting
And the owly owls up in the cacti
Yeah, they tell me that I'm a hoot
But that's just cuz they ain't got lips
So they can't give me the boot
I'm a force of nature, I'm a windy ghost
I'm a frozen stick of butter on cold dry toast
And like a mediocre TV host
I'll be remembered most when I'm gone
I'll be remembered most when I'm gone
I'll be remembered most when I'm gone
There once was a happy Inuit
Who was living out in the Mojave
And dealing with anthropologists
Was her least favorite hobby
There was also a bamboo wicker man
Who became obsessed with fire
He fell in love with a dragon one day
And their bed became a pyre
A happy dancing disco band
Was singing in the street
And they had the people stomping their feet
But then everybody had to go back to work
It's a force of nature, it's a ghostly wind
It's a pile of gold in the recycle bin
And like good karma when you haven't sinned
It's in a cake tin upside down
It's in a cake tin upside down
It's in a cake tin upside down
I can't feel my face because my hands aren't really there
And now that that's been said, neither is my face (What?)
Fingers in my hair (OK), tension in this place (Oh Yeah)
Fill me up with grace (Oh Yeah!), fill me up with dread (What? No!)
Even the Dune Sea doesn't want me
They say my humor is too dry
They say my bare bones kind of vocal tones
Might leave their ear drums pulverized
It's a force of nature, it's a ghostly wind
It's a frozen stick of butter that has not sinned
And like good karma in the recycle bin
I'll be remembered most when I'm gone
I'll be remembered most when I'm gone
I'll be remembered most when I'm gone
I'm a force of nature, I'm a windy ghost
I'm a pile of gold next to a TV Host
And like good karma when you need it the most
I'm melting on the ground
I'm melting on the ground
I'm in a cake tin upside down
They say my humor is too dry
They say my bare bones kind of vocal tones
Might leave their ear drums pulverized
