Pigeon Pete

Pigeon Pete eats lunch with me each and every day
Pigeon Pete he waits for me below my balcony
Pigeon Pete he talks to me if I don't understand
I still smile and I sing to him as he nibbles on the land

Pigeon Pete oh Pigeon Pete
Pigeon Pete, how much can you eat?
A lot, a lot, a lot

Pigeon Pete heads home when the sun lays down its head
He greets all of his squirrelly friends and collects his nightly bread
When he gets home he gives it all to his family
They each thank him for their dinner then they all sleep peacefully

Pigeon Pete oh Pigeon Pete
Pigeon Pete, oh ain't he sweet?

Pigeon Pete gets restless in the middle of the night
He waits 'til everyone's asleep then he heads down to the light
He meets up with the rats by the alley dumpster bin
Where he gambles, drinks and smokes 'til he sees the sun again

Pigeon Pete oh Pigeon Pete
Pigeon Pete will taste defeat

Pigeon Pete he wakes up inside the dumpster bin
He curses and he asks why he did this to himself again?
His left wings between the buns of an old big mac
And his right one is wrapped around a stranger pigeon's back

Pigeon Pete oh Pigeon Pete
Pigeon Pete gets back on his feet
And the cycle starts again
Here comes my lunchtime friend
