Pacific

It's time to pack my bags again
Say goodbye to empty walls and then
Pick up all the pieces as fast as I can
And hold my breath until the plane lands

I'm tired of being tired all the time
I let myself down to just prove myself right
I rearrange the stories in my head so I can sleep
I know exactly who they want me to be

As vines run up my mother's house
I see I'm still getting older now
They look taller than before

I wish that you would let me in
It hurts to see you like this
You always leave me wanting more

The time goes rushing like the wind over hanging clothes
It goes running like the kids on their way back home
Before the street lights come on for the night

And I guess somewhere in between I let the days go
Cause I didn't know what I didn't know
Did I?
Now I'm running out of time

Have you ever seen the Pacific
From the dark side of the wave
From a different point of view

Last night I drove the distance
But I circled back to home
Like I always do

I'm drowning on land, if I'm honest
I'm harder on myself, I promise
But I'll carry on for you
