I was lost in sin, unrighteous surely

Knowing what Jesus did on the Cross for such a sinful man
After all of the lustin', with a heart of corruption
The sexual immorality, oh God, I'm disgusting
And the wages of sin of death

I can't change and I'm in a mess
God is holy and He judges sin
I need a Savior to interject, yuh
Cuz I couldn't escape the punishment
The judgment was covering my head
But God made a covenant instead
The covenant had an abundance of love in it
The Son was sent to the earth to die in my place
Yuh, so I could fly in His grace
Letting go of the world for the sake of having Christ to embrace
Why would God give His life
To show the glory of His grace
I've been bought with a price
All honor to Christ

If God is holy and just and completely righteous
That's bad news for us and we're in a crisis
Because God has to punish sin
Because He's infinitely holy
So God's wrath is coming in
And being good is never good enough
We're only putting up a front because of pride and we're full of lust
But how can God express His righteous anger
And at the same time show mercy and grace and do it like a gangsta
Pouring out His wrath on His only Son
So His enemies are now open to come to the Holy One
So in Christ we go from lust and pride
No trust in God inside to being justified
That means we're counted righteous, no more crisis
We're being made into His likeness, no more vices
Now I know what life is
Why would God redeem it for me
