Nightmare

My last nightmare was quite unusually grim
I went to the City of Bones in a dream
It was oddly bright, neatly polished and prim
On the field of my prayers impaled by scream

Cold sweat and once again I gasped for air
Death sang its lullaby in my nightmare

Cold sweat and once again I gasped for air
Death sang its lullaby in my nightmare

The City where souls become lifeless and dull
I decided to stay in that weird dreamscape
My thoughts – sleepy bats at the roof of my skull
Came alive with the night to revolt, to escape

Cold sweat and once again I gasped for air
Death sang its lullaby in my nightmare

They crept on the paper and chewed on my pen
With voices disturbing, when night was intense
They scowled and grimaced again and again
While whispering something that didn't make sense

INST

The hideous beast with his reeking breath
Was my life in a flesh. He made a point to tell
That we'll be together until wicked Death
Do us part, and we all would be going to hell

While I struggled to flee, with blood up to my knees
Someone waved to me standing on bones in the strand
Scrambling to run from my hideous beast
I desperately grabbed at the thrust-out hand

"Let me help you" – she said with a marvelous grace
Stretching her mouth in a lascivious grin
"I am Death. Don't you worry, you're in a safe place..."
She didn't finish, I jolted awake from the dream

Cold sweat and once again I gasped for air
Death sang its lullaby in my nightmare!

Cold sweat and once again I gasped for air
Death sang its lullaby in my nightmare!
