There Must Be A Way

We're sort of stuck in a hole, we try to climb the sides
Can't buy our way out of jail, so we're just killing time
And we surrender ourselves, so we can pay the rent
Keep digging deeper each day, until we're all but spent
We reach the end of the line we have to leave the train here
It's just a matter of time and we have travelled nowhere

A little rest from the mess, a brief recalibration
Remember dress to impress, to help your circulation
We see the sickness beneath, we sense that they are weak
But they are armed to the teeth, we do not dare to speak but

Deflecting bullets and mud, we're rolling in the deep
Reflecting nothing but dark, they think that we're asleep
And so we head for the coast, we know that life's a beach
You give an inch and you're toast, you must protect your peach
We close our eyes and pretend that this is what we're missing
We seek to follow the trend we need a deeper meaning

A little break by the sea, we're only ankle deep
Convince yourself you are free, with all the other sheep
But we can sense something wrong, on the periphery
We hear the snarling of dogs, they watch us intently

So they divert us with fluff, to keep us busy fools
They tell us we must buy stuff, and we must follow rules
And they divide us with lies to keep us polarised 'cos
If we are fighting ourselves they get an easy ride

Don't take your eyes off the game, or you will lose your dollar
They give with one hand but take your freedom with the other
And so the show must go on, they look out for the suckers
The circus rolls into town, so roll up all you funkers
We watch the mercury rise, another cracking summer
We make hay while the sun shines, there might not be another
Its on the tip of your tongue, but someone sewed your mouth shut
So no one hears what you say, no one cares anyway but
