Djovani Djordjo

From being a musician, out in the world in Europe
I left and became composer... So I went to Berlin
To make some money, I would go to some clubs to sing
And I particularly remember one club in Aachen called The Scotch Club
You know at a time I didn't have any money
So I was singing live with the tracks on a cassette...

Ja se zovem Djovani Djordjo
Ali svi me zovu Djordjo
Djordjo, Djorjdo...
Ja se zovem Djovani Djordjo
Ali svi me zovu Djordjo
Djordjo, Djorjdo...

The reaction at the very beginning was good in England
Good in Europe, relatively good in America
So it became a world wide number one song
And I didn't know but David Bowie told me years later that
They were in Berlin trying to find a new sound and recording with Brian Eno
And one day Brian Eno came with a record and told David:
"Don't look for a new sound because Giorgio Moroder found it already"

Ja se zovem Djovani Djordjo
Ali svi me zovu Djordjo
Djordjo, Djorjdo...
Ja se zovem Djovani Djordjo
Ali svi me zovu Djordjo
Djordjo, Djorjdo...

My name is Giovanni Giorgio but everybody calls me Giorgio

Ja se zovem Djovani Djordjo
Ali svi me zovu Djordjo
Djordjo, Djorjdo...
Ja se zovem Djovani Djordjo
Ali svi me zovu Djordjo
Djordjo, Djorjdo...

My name is Giovanni Giorgio but everybody calls me Giorgio
