Train Ride

Take a train ride to the city
As the heat fogs up my glasses you'll be with me
Scribble a line on a pack of Post-it notes
You'll laugh and you'll pull me close

We'll walk until the soles of our shoes have holes
And I still won't want to take you home
Just watch the lights with me for a few more minutes
Can we spend the night wrapped up like this?

There's so many car rides and sunsets and mornings where I was missing you
Maybe tonight let's wait just a little bit longer
I want to be tongue tied at two am, fall asleep and know I'm gonna see you again in the Morning

Take a train ride to the city
Trace the path we'll take on maps I carry with me
Out on the street the world makes so much noise
But all I can hear is your own voice

We'll walk until the soles of our shoes have holes
And I still won't want to take you home
Just watch the lights with me for a few more minutes
Can we spend the night wrapped up like this

There's so many car rides and sunsets and mornings where I was missing you
Maybe tonight let's wait just a little bit longer
I want to be tongue tied at two am, fall asleep
And know I'm gonna see you again in the morning
Tongue tied at two am, fall asleep and know I'm gonna see you again
