Fake Theology
Ring ring it's me
I did the church boy thing
I rang church boy bell
I got that church boy ring
Me a teenage boy at the age of 17
I made a promise to my god
That the niggas will never see
They called it purity
In my head i kept it as a symbol of maturity
Not knowing every nigga looks at me with obscurity
I gotta walk a fine line wise assuredly
I gotta lock my blessings up, like a soul security
6months ago I dropped an ep
In the middle of not feeling very me
Sifting through my thoughts racially
Then again politically
Make it so hard for a black man to believe
Got me meditating about the state of the world today
Got a nigga on his knees
God hear me say
No matter what comes what may
I will keep the faith
Cause I know deep down
We gon' be ok
I'm shedding this fake theology
I hope that the god above is up there proud of me
I won't accept your vein idolatry
I hope that my grandpa is somewhere
Somewhere proud of me
So let me break it down
What is-fake theology
The pews are filled with money from Pharisees to their prodigy
I get the gist and the twist of the phrase hypocrisy
Remarkably the phrase we speak don't bother me
Probably because the church adopted it like the new harmony
A true atrocity
A fake prophecy
I have some questions without answers and there ought be
Why is it always quantity over quality
Be so holy but you don't gotta sing
Even tho that's was required for the music scene
Righetous anger seems like top priority
Possibly because we've all been indoctrinated since the age of 3
Honestly the church believes they can change Gods policy
Then just ask for his apology
And claim they thought free will meant democracy
I say this next sentence from the gut mockingly
In the end, we'll see whose laughing G
I'd rather be surrounded by wolves than Pharisees
Because they so woke but the act so sleep
Church folk but we act like sheep
I'm shedding this fake theology
I hope that the god above is up there proud of me
I won't accept your vein idolatry
I hope that my grandpa is somewhere
Somewhere proud of me
