Box Car

This baggie on my shoulder is pushing me on,
Its full of sticks and stones.
And this whiskey in my water is pushing me farther.
I guess I'll never come home.

Jumping railcars to the shore on a bleeding line
Another moonless night.
Fearing the last place I might know is this boxcar's floor,
Taking me to hell's dark door.

Once more across this dirty river,
She carries me with her, where I lay my head.
I can hear the rumble of the steel door,
Beats to the pulse, the half that keeps me whole.

Was it worth all the trouble,
When I raised my hand and ended God's plan.
Hoping the last place I might go,
Is with the engine's smoke, back home to your soul

I can hear the sirens past the bridge now
And I know its time to jump for me and mine.
I can hear the sirens past the bridge now
And I know its time to jump off this line.

This baggie on my shoulder is pushing me on,
Its full of stick and stones.
And this whiskey in my water is pushing me farther.
I guess I'll never come home
