Guideline (feat. Griploc)
What's up world
Man if I have to go back to the first day I wanted to rap
It was I was like 13 years old, I was with my friend Rahul
We were walking down laughed mall
And I literally just started freestyling out of nowhere
And I said this is me now
It's funny because when I got older around 17 I met Rob Swan
Who was also a rapper
And he and I started meeting up all the time
At my girlfriends place and we would just rap
On Beats from other artists
He introduced me to his friend John Raymond
And we formed a group called North West Disciples
We all went our separate ways as we got older
But Rob and I and John always kept writing and making music on our own
I moved to surrey
I formed a little recording studio in my house
A project studio and just...
I went to school for it
Later on in life...
I moved to Princeton in 2010 and met Adam Gullason
He was my sisters friend
He was interested in recording his band so I recorded an ep for them and
Introduced em' to rap
Showed him how I laid down tracks and wrote flows from scratch
So we made some tracks together
And now you see where we're at Guideline homie forever
Yeah I never met a kid with such a drive that could match
At first he was rough around the edges but you could see he was gonna make more than just an average cat
Thanks Grip
It's the guideline the guideline
Uh Uh it's the guideline it's the guideline
It's the guideline the guideline
Uh this the guideline Uh uh uh
This the guideline the guideline uh uh
This the guideline
Ya heard it
Grip was showing' us some tunes in the stu'
Never really knew rap
Until grip entered the chat
I owned all his mixtapes
And Dobbers' did too
We'd bump the collision mixtape
On our way to school
Griploc and Sketch
Their music shaping out heads
I started adding rap tracks to my iPod from then on
Few years later moved a way from p-town
Up to Langley with grip we was makin' some sounds
Before that
I was spittin' flows with T-Ross (Jobin)
We met through college and we was vibin' a lot
These guys had shown me what rap is
Encouraged my rappin'
Loved my production
And there for my ups and... downs
And I kept dobbers by my side
Who would've thought that in our lifetime that we'd make lifeline
I always thought our best work was on timeline
But I got all my homies and heroes here on Guideline
