Baby Blue

Baby Blue treats me like a child

He blunt my sharpness
And grates my worth to dust
He takes the taste of words off my tongue
And chomps them into a smirking gum
And when he's done
Stomps them into the pavement

To you, I may seem a strong man

But to him
I am a gaping mule
A flittering flumoxed fool
I am a drool of cloudy thoughts
Lapping around his 99p whims like a splurge of sugary soft serve
He is the crowning jewel, of course
The flake

But don't you know, Baby Blue
That you need softness to get the best out of anyone?
Don't you know, Baby Brute
That vulnerability is a strength, not a weakness?
And don't you know
That what you will, will become?

I you will me to dumbness, to dumbness I shall become
If you focus on the dark, the dark will focus on you

And if you stop backing me into a corner of stupor
I will stop retreating
And will emerge a humble man
The best there are
