Before my birth
The Son was chosen
To be the One
To set me free
While I was lost
And surely hell-bound
The perfect Son

We face real pain
Real tears
Real doubts
Real fears
Real rejection
Real objections
To what Scripture says is real
Real brokenness
Real oppression
Real anxiety
Real depression
Real strife
We face real stress
Real life
We see real death

And we do our best to do what's right
Until we have nothing left
But if we can trust God with our eternity, Church
Then can't we cling to Him in this season

Because we do not serve a High Priest
Who cannot sympathize with our weakness

Cause He faced real pain
He sees real tears
He sees all the doubts
He sees all the fears
He faced real rejection
He faced real objections
The Emmanuel, God in flesh, has drawn near

He was cursed, He was mocked
Disowned by His own peers
He died a real death
To put an end to all the depression
To make the unrighteous righteous
To end all oppression

But He killed that real death
With a real resurrection
To give us real life
That's forever in His presence

That's real

Jesus is here, Church
