On the Grind

What do want from me
The lessons learned are burned into my memory
So stop stressing me
To get back into the game that got the best of me

People try to tell me,
Well, that's the way it is
And, I know it's just a matter of time
'Til I've given every ounce
Of what I still have let to give
On the grind

I guess it's fine if you waste your mind
We all live just to pass the time
But we're on a temporary ride
Around the universe
What's it's worth
Make a decision to begin your rebirth
You don't have to stay stuck
There ain't no such thing as luck
Not to mention
I'm choosing to use all my skills like they're gifts
Not like they're symptoms

Change the rage of these youth victims
Ruing truth like it's ear drum abuse
All afflicted with an arrogant apathy
Lost like a moth in a flame
Playing all the lame games
As they get played
High scores and bedsores
Too far to catch fame
Ring, your alarm rang
One day you awake will be too late

People try to tell me,
Well, that's the way it is
And, I know it's just a matter of time
'Til I've given every ounce
Of what I still have let to give
On the grind

Confessions are a testament
To keep besting it and testing it out
The smooth sound of my youth running out
Out of juice on a quest for truth
Did my cannon hit or get loose
Astronauts shoot for the moon
And if you wanna catch a silvery spoon
Don't break down or up, break through
No limit to what you can do

People try to tell me,
Well, that's the way it is
And, I know it's just a matter of time
'Til I've given every ounce
Of what I still have let to give
On the grind

Yeah
On the grind
