Teddy Makes Three

Back in '53
When Trudy Pitts joined my band I had no such a notion
That she'd wind up being the one
That would play in and throughout my soul
It use to be just use two
Then along came our Teddy and now
We are a threesome
Now that he's growing and running around
He is trying to make us seem old
But we are some youthful folks
That's no joke
Play'n the music 'round the world
Now we have a family
Now that Teddy is finally singing Jazz
Something wore off on him at last

First it was Mr C
Bill Carney and The Hi-Tones
With John Coltrane and Tooty Heath
And Shirley Scott Shirley left
Then came in Trudy
They made Teddy and then Anysha
And now
We are all together in this world

But their youthful folks
That's no joke
Play'n the music
Round the world
Now we are a Family
Now that Teddy is finally singing Jazz
Somethin wore off on him at last
