WATER

I put my hands together make du'a
I put my head on the ground make ṣalāt
I take my bread out account make zakat
I don't only pray, me and God we talk
On the righteous path I walk
Ṣirāṭ, al-mustaqīm
Like the world's thinnest balance beam
At times, I may, have strayed
But I never forgot
If there's not a mosque on the block then I'm lost
I wasn't born evil it was taught
Feel like my whole life a message
Grateful to the one who sent it
Careful of how I spend it
Any second He could end it
Nothing I can do prevents it
Yet what I leave behind extends it
I feel like when my time is close then I'll sense it
I'm tryna take this deeper than the trenches
Death is not an exit, it's an entrance
