The Boy From Class
I barely knew the boy from class
We didn't talk too much
Cuz I was hiding in the back
And he sat in the front
He was always joking with his friends
A smile on his face
Out of everyone I never guessed
That it would end this way
He was only was seventeen
There's so much that he's missed
I just turned 21
And I've barely even lived
That's the hardest part
Cuz I still got my life ahead
And it hurts to think that his is really over
Cuz I keep getting older
I barely knew the boy from class
We spoke a word or two
But I could always hear him laugh
From way across the room
So when I heard the news
It really took me by surprise
How somebody as kind as him
Could hurt so much inside
He was only was seventeen
There's so much that he's missed
I just turned 21
And I've barely even lived
That's the hardest part
Cuz I still got my life ahead
And it hurts to think that his is really over
Cuz I keep getting older
We didn't talk too much
Cuz I was hiding in the back
And he sat in the front
He was always joking with his friends
A smile on his face
Out of everyone I never guessed
That it would end this way
He was only was seventeen
There's so much that he's missed
I just turned 21
And I've barely even lived
That's the hardest part
Cuz I still got my life ahead
And it hurts to think that his is really over
Cuz I keep getting older
I barely knew the boy from class
We spoke a word or two
But I could always hear him laugh
From way across the room
So when I heard the news
It really took me by surprise
How somebody as kind as him
Could hurt so much inside
He was only was seventeen
There's so much that he's missed
I just turned 21
And I've barely even lived
That's the hardest part
Cuz I still got my life ahead
And it hurts to think that his is really over
Cuz I keep getting older
