The Writer

I am but a writer and have something to state
Not much of a fighter though I love a good debate
Can't be bothered to leave the house on any given day
For I am but a writer and that's the writer's way
And I am but a writer, so writing's what I do
Not at all much brighter, but no one's got a clue
The drama makes my love go brown but you'll never see me cry
For I am but a writer, they only ever sigh
And I won't write about love, it's a cruel and vicious game
I've tried to play it once before and it just drovе me insane
Instead I will writе happily my third autobiography
On loneliness and anxiety and other types of misery
'Cause that's what people read
I am but a writer and you are a great friend
But since we've gotten tight, are you surely understand?
That even though I kinda like you and I think you're quite okay
I'm twice as smart as you are, so friends we cannot stay
Oh, let us both go our own way 'cause friends we cannot stay
Don't try to deny it, we both know that it's true
I wish that I could help right now, but there ain't much I can do
So don't ever try to call me, but if you find the time
Just switch on your radio
Just switch on your radio
Just switch on your radio
Or read a book of mine
