Rascal Flatts -
Twenty Years Of Rascal Flatts - The Greatest Hits (Big Machine Radio Release Special)
Fast Cars And Freedom - Commentary
We're celebrating twenty years of Rascal Flatts
By playing their new greatest hits album
And we're also checking in with the guys
To just get their thoughts on the fact that they have been a band for twenty years
And some of the big hits that they have put out
And I had the chance to ask 'em
If they could go back and tell those three young wide-eyed guys
Who were just starting out as Rascal Flatts anything
What would they wanna tell 'em
And here is what Jay DeMarcus said
I think for me the one thing that I
Think I really, we would spend a little more time doing
Was enjoying the ride while we were on it
We were working so hard and in such a hurried pace that
A lot of times, it was tough to really enjoy the fruits of our labour
And what we were living in the middle of
And just how special those times were
In the mid-two thousands there
We were really on a real hot stricken
We were winning awards and seven vocal groups by the year awards in a row
And would have number one since, selling millions of records
I don't think it really dawned on any of us
What rare fine air we were in actually in at the time
And being able to fully take that in and enjoy it
And slow down enough and look around
Oh, gosh
This is a chance of a lifetime that we may never see again
I wish I could go back and tell ourselves
Hey while you are in the middle of this ride
Just slow down, take a deep breath and take it all in
Because it really is pretty special
Good advice from Rascal Flatts to their younger selves
But also to new artists who are just starting out
And here they are with fast cars and freedom
Of twenty years of Rascal Flatts, the greatest hits
By playing their new greatest hits album
