No Love Lost (The Prelude)

I find it awe striking that I stand here whole
That I welcome the calm, beautiful breeze that lay before me
That one foot continues to follow the other cautiously
Yet confidently into a future unknown
I am astonished to stare into my own reflection
And see not wounds
But hollow chasms yet to be filled with light

I find it awe striking that I stand here whole
For I have weathered a love like a storm
And in ignorance held fast to peace in the eye

Nevertheless
For all of the destruction and deconstruction I am so thankful
Thankful for every misunderstanding that uncovered truth
For every hateful word that reignited love
For the cracks and floods who ripped apart and wash away ego and pride
To make room for love and faith
Love for myself
Faith in my Father
Thank you

For it is awe striking that I stand here whole
That I welcome the calm, beautiful silence that lay before me
For I have weathered a love like a storm
But at last
Whirlwind to my back I know peace
And graciously
Where there is peace
There is no love lost
