Fish or Man

All there is, is a man, a rod, a lake, and a fish
And then when you're reeling it in, everything else falls away
Fishing is a life and death struggle between man and fish
Forget this and you'll most certainly get hurt
We're all wild animals brother
It's the human condition
A man has a choice
Sounds a little fishy to me
What kinda fish can we put in there?
A shellfish that loves the Kelp

What makes the things that make who you are
Methodically mowing a square blue yard
Wanted a choice, but you took it too far
You're not just the things that you think you are
Down in the trench your future awaits
Tied up neatly by the black thread of fate
The rose-colored life you tried to create
Spells ill portent all over your face
Some of your pieces is just a few parts
But swimming in circles is truly an art
It seems like that was a good time to start
Here's some light reading to remove the dark
Fishing for truths but coming up short
Turning the pages, but only for sport
Not much of a writer, at least not of that sort
Living your life through clever retorts

Can't even catch fish, its swimming right in front of him
Can't even catch fish, its swimming right in front of him
Don't trust these filthy surface bois
Chasing the Fish

Can't even catch fish, its swimming right in front of him
Can't even catch fish, its swimming right in front of him
Chasing the Fish
Put a hook on the end of your line

Surrounded by swans with their overlooked feathers
Forged by the hands that keep overcooked ledgers
Enduring the prattle of tenured professors
You wish to fit in like a fish sketched by Escher
And yes, you've mentioned it's genuine leather
Scaly and cold, I don't care for the texture
I fully support your use of conjecture
But no, I don't think that I'll sit through the lecture

That fish guy's a genuine dude
Fish People
Fishing
When does the fish part happen?

Can't even catch fish, its swimming right in front of him
Can't even catch fish, its swimming right in front of him
You. Are. A. Fish
I'm a MAN
Chasing the Fish

Plenty of land and trees
Will soon be undersea
Where sunken cities will stand
All the trashed alleys
Form submarine valleys
With rooftop gardens full of sand

Swim like a fish
Try a whole fish
Some are very detail-oriented
You speak fish??
Any member of the Bass family (Fishspeak)
Like a fish in a tree, and that fish is me
Fishin' magician man, fishin' magician

Surrounded by swans with their overlooked feathers
Forged by the hands that keep overcooked ledgers
Enduring the prattle of tenured professors
You wish to fit in like a fish sketched by Escher
And yes, you've mentioned it's genuine leather
Scaly and cold, I don't care for the texture
I fully support your use of conjecture
But no, I don't think that I'll sit through the lecture

Plenty of land and trees
Will soon be undersea
Where sunken cities will stand
All the trashed alleys
Form submarine valleys
With rooftop gardens full of sand

Boy, when I first signed up for this adventure I just wanted to see pretty mermaids
But now I realize it's all about the camaraderie of my fellow sailors
Great Fish or Man!
