Myoclonic Fall

I Lie awake as the meters run
And the changing states leave my body in place
After hours of lying alone in my bed
My receptors promote a fall from grace
A vacant corpse of a man in fear
Clinging in vain to his lucid phase
With suspicion about his weightless state
But nothing compares to the moment when he fell down

Now gasping for breath and conscious again
Just straining my neck with the chains on my head
Cry out for mercy, make it end soon
With the deafening winds, and a deep sense of dread
The weight on my chest has me helpless tonight
Surrounded by creatures that just want me dead
So submit yourself now, and prey for release
It's just a typical night for a sickly, gaunt young man

I thought I'd left too soon
Although I've never followed through on anything like this before
I thought I'd left too soon
But seizing is the means by which we break silence here
Sometimes I want to feel nothing
Sometimes I want to break something
Sometimes I want to feel nothing
