Orange Tree

Bright citrus of my memory
Days of old beneath the orange tree
Decades of facets that we found
Top tiger tail this hillside round

If I could plant seed for flowering branch
I'd broadcast over seas wherever I'd chance
So I could see the orange tree dance
Feel its juice run sweet down my hands at long last

Its fruit that grounds us to this life
Through seasons that hold transcendence and strife
Weaving bright light, bright sunglobes of gold
With the fragrance that peace and tranquility hold

Now its branches sway through night and through day
Carry its essence much farther away
By blow of the breeze though we're far apart
Citrus carries the sun to my mind and my heart
