Cornfield Whisper

The sun is high and no clouds in the sky
The buzzard gives out a solitary cry
Through barley, wheat, corn, maize and rye
I do roam
I do roam

Out in the cornfield I whisper alone
The rain and the grain, the eyes have all grown
With a grinful of sin, I ran from my home
Out in the cornfield, all on my own
On my own

The stalks hurt my feet and stick in my eye
The dust chokes my lungs, preparing to die
I'm lost in the cornfield, nowhere to turn
The sun's beating down, my face starts to burn

The sun is high and no clouds in the sky
The buzzard gives out a solitary cry
Through barley, wheat, corn, maize and rye
I do roam
I do roam

Out in the cornfield I whisper alone
The rain and the grain, the eyes have all grown
With a grinful of sin, I ran from my home
On my own
I'm on my own
On my own
On my own
