Wholeheartedly

Sat at my piano for a whole day
Keep it black and white is what the keys say
But when I think of us
Just gathering dust
This area is feeling pretty gray
The colors drained

Fingers dancing around
All the notes I'm
Supposed to play to explain or devote my Something for you
You wrote me a note or two
But it was different back in the day

If I had your heart on a string
Could I just pull it closer to me
Am I being selfish? And I ask this
Wholeheartedly
Am I supposed to know?
Probably
Should I go?
I think I'll leave

Got my head up
In the clouds yet here I am
Got me thinking while I'm sinking in your sand
Feels made for me, like you prayed for me
But I'm no angel for God to understand

If I had your heart on a string
Could I just pull it closer to me
Am I being selfish? And I ask this
Wholeheartedly
Am I supposed to know?
Probably
Should I go?
I think I'll leave

I'll slur my words just like you mumble yours
That's what the fighting's for
Never clear connection
I guess we tried I'll save you in another life
Closer yet maybe another dimension
When I'm a better version
For you
Wholeheartedly, too
