Midnight

Midnight – midnight Wenceslas Square
Midnight – you feel his ice-cold stare
Midnight – midnight Wenceslas Square
Midnight – feel his ice-cold stare

In the Brezany brook
Near the city of Prague

Another dead body was found
Lying in a shallow stream
A quiet place where no living soul
Would ever hear you scream

Scream

Blanka goes for a drink
And she would never think
It could be the last one in her fucking short life

Thirty years and a married wife
With a friend she gets into a fight
She gets up and walks out the club just before

Midnight - midnight Wenceslas Square
Midnight - you feel his ice-cold stare

Jack went for a trip
Czech red-light district

Pretending again to write another milieu story
He is exploring this new territory
Turn of events will soon become gory
Their paths fatally crossing in Prague just before

Midnight – Wenceslas Square
Midnight – feel his cold stare

Stare

Blanka goes for a drink
And she would never think
It could be the last one in her fucking short life

He's watching poor Blanka roam
He's offering her a lift home
Unfortunately Jack is taking a route to her unknown
She is trapped in this nightmare – she is trapped in deadly fear

Midnight – Midnight Wenceslas Square
Midnight – you feel his ice-cold stare
Midnight – Midnight Wenceslas Square
Midnight – victim of torture

She is trapped in this nightmare – she is trapped in deadly fear

"Today a strangled woman was found in the Brezany brook.
It appears that her killer had started to give her a lift home,
But had then continued on until he came to the little valley
Surrounded by woods

Except for a pair of gray knee-high stockings
And the gold wedding band on her finger,
She was naked, lying in the shallow stream on her back,
Her legs spread wide apart,
Covered by a couple of tree branches

She had been strangled, both manually and with a ligature,
Though the ligature was missing.
In one of her buttocks was a stab wound.
Her clothing and purse were missing.
Her I.D. was found on the shoreline of the Vltava

It appeared that her killer had taken it,
And then, on his way back to Prague
Tossed it into the river

Blanka's I.D., found on the shore of the Vltava,
Was an interesting detail

In Salzburg in 1973, Unterweger had also driven
A girl to a lake surrounded by woods,
And after he'd murdered her and
Left her in the water, he'd taken her clothing and purse

From the Salzach Lake he'd driven to the Salzach River
And tossed her purse into it.
A fisherman downstream of the city snagged it a few days later."
