Please Don't Be Late

I want to be there when it comes
to stare into the face of this old sun.
It's something I won't think to take for granted.
You've been sowing seeds just to be planted.
Called debility,
it drives them away.
Please don't be late.
I'm drowning in the haze.
To follow in the light,
we'll take this delight
out of our hands.
I've seen the faces of my handlers.
They've been around me for so long.
They seem to think they have become my teachers.
I shiver in the wake of what went wrong.
And believe me
the though can be wrong.
Please don't be late.
I'm downing in the haze.
To follow in the light,
we'll take what is right
out of our hands.
