Hiraeth

A cold winter morning
Anticipation of welcoming cherish
One that will bring me home,
where brick and flame mesh as one
A familiar warmth
Clutching what's left,
while I fear the empty night sky
For which it wails for company
I submit myself to the unfamiliar blood
A blood that sees no need for warmth
The familiar frigid winter returns
A creaking wooden floor,
filled with eyes I wish could convey love
Side by side, yet nothing
My heart turned to stone
Only by a fading window's view,
can I feel your warmth again.
