24 Years Down

24 years down
Head filled with stories I should write about
And people I should write back

Moved out
Messed up
Got knocked down and kept my head up
And 24 is never enough

There's 24 hours in a day so I never thought 24 years could slip away
How can I make the rest of them stay?
24 years gone of my life
And I'm tryna make it big tryna take a break tryna slow down this time
And ask, "Who am I?"
24 years down

17
First time
Mind wide open full of drunk pride
Moving into college for the first time

First mistakes, first love
Some of us stayed young and some grew up
And 17 was never enough

There's 24 hours in a day so I never thought 24 years could slip away
How can I make the rest of them stay?
24 years gone of my life
And I'm tryna make it big tryna take a break tryna slow down this time
And ask, "Who am I?"
24 years down

22
Eyes wide
Sitting on a roof under the starlight
I saw you crying for the first time

23
Your mom died
And I learned mortality is a part of life
Not a concept you fantasize

There's 24 hours in a day so I never thought 24 years could slip away
How can I make the rest of them stay?
24 years gone of my life
And I'm tryna make it big tryna take a break tryna slow down this time
And ask, "Who am I?"
24 years down

Some of us are still kids
Some of us have kids
And I'm somewhere in the middle
What have I accomplished?
Why do I measure my accomplishments
As my self-worth
At 24 years?

24 hours in a day so I never thought 24 years could slip away
How can I make the rest of them stay?
24 years gone of my life
And I'm tryna make it big tryna take a break tryna slow down this time
And ask, "Who am I?"
24 years down
