Pennyworth

How much is a penny worth

They'll pay a penny for my thoughts
I give 'em my two cents
That copper's packin' a jar with a
Wishin' well's dissent within
The coin that I commit to the collection plate
I resent the senseless - bent incensed
The scent is intense - present my cent
Impressed by praise
Craving that common coin emblazoned with Kings and with Queens
Cater to comments coined displaying a Lincoln relief
Logging my change from people longing for change
I've been allotted a lot of pennies - had plenty replaced
I feel replenished when these peasants pay attention to my plentiful
Inevitable I'd end up with imitation aplenty
Pool my pennies together
And sift the counterfeit out of it
Drown in this sound so profound
I'm impounding confounding wit
But whittle it down and tell me what does it amount to

How much is a penny worth

They'll pay a penny for my thoughts
I give 'em my two cents
The copper I'm conceiving conforms to keep me content
And I won't concede I'm conceited
But receive this seed or be seated
Everyone consumed with competing
For their own concept, but can't see it
We congregate 'round a context
A commonplace book of comments
No petty penny pinching
Spreading plenty opinions
Any present gettin'
Peppered heavy with it
Mine will never be replaced if
Many gather to embrace it
Everybody has a platform
So we hang our pennies like a plaque for 'em
As if all that copper wasn't loaned to us
We just pin it up on any plat - forums
For our coin tosses to be noticed
Penny drive - they give me notes it's
Fueling my frail glass form
Follow me or you get no ticks
No tips for the counter points if they tryna tell me what's counterfeit
I'll counter it with deposit slips accounting all the coin I'm drowning in
Now boil it down and tell me what's really the value
