Die or Ride

Facebook crashed one day
So I finally left my place
Put my phone up on the shelf
Put sunglasses on my face
I walked around the block
Started feeling rather strange
Everything looked different
And frankly quite deranged

It's time to die or ride

A street once full of bungalows
Now sits a tower straight from hell
The bar I drank cheap beer at
Says "gold: we buy or sell"
The squirrel I once fed nuts
Head torn off by some cat
The crackhead on the corner
Is feeding his pet rat

It's time to die or ride

It's not what's all around me
It's what I've buried deep inside
This ugliness surrounds me
It's where I must reside
To you I must confide
For me it's die or ride
I can not pick a side
The desire simply died
But I take it all in stride
And I know you know I lied

I guess it's not much different
It's mostly still the same
I miss the little things
My perception is to blame
For this apathy I feel
So deep within my bones
Why the music in my heart
Is composed in minor tones

It's time to die or ride
