Through the Smoke of Evil

The humming of the forest
Muffled deep beneath the fog
The stench was thick, the air was musty
There it stood, long abandoned and dusty

Trying to peer through the smoke
That is where the temple lies
Getting closer, things have gone awry
From within, you hear the devil's cries

First, he pulls you in
Then, he takes your soul
He is going to make you feel
Lifeless, empty, and cold

Gasping for oxygen
Unable to breath
Light begins to fade away
And darkness is all you see

The voices from the trees
Choked within the fog
The air so thick with dread
Nearer to the temple, now
Drawn towards his presence

Breathing in the smoke
From the shrine of remains
All over you, the blood now stains
First the blood flows in
Then out your mouth it pours
Lying empty and lifeless
The temple now holds your soul

Lying at the altar base
Helpless and confused
Blood is flowing everywhere
The ritual is almost through

Your surroundings fade away
You feel an urge to run
The demon appears to claim his prey
Now the ritual is done

Peering through the smoke
The darkness starts to rise
In the temple now, no turning back
You hear the devil's cries

This time you will not fall for it
Through many of his tries
To temptation you will not succumb
You fight to ignore his cries

You sing the praises of god
To weaken his strength and his ego
You strike with all your might
Then he sends your worthless soul
Into an eternal night

Darkness now surrounding you
It eats your soul alive
He is the one ignoring your cries
You gasp for air, to no avail
One final time
