I Don't Want You To Cry Too

They get mad sometimes at things that seem dumb
I don't even know how it happened so fast
He went numb
I don't know why I felt so bad
It happened every day
I guess I was just surprised that his way of thinking was so gray

We all put them down so fast
They can't handle being last
Don't you see that if they knew
How stressed that we sometimes get
They would understand regret
And say I don't want you to cry too?

Some hear just one word and think that that's their cue
But some of them just say to me I don't want you to cry too
To be dreading the end just at the beginning
He wasn't like the others outside playing and spinning
They picked favorites but it didn't bother me
The fact that they are fragile is just part of reality

We all put them down so fast
They can't handle being last
Don't you see that if they knew
How stressed that we sometimes get
They would understand regret
And say I don't want you to cry too?

Sometimes time doesn't heal and what they're dealing with is real
Sometimes it's okay to not be okay
I guess what I'm trying to say is that they don't even have to play
When they have a mind that thinks like clay
