Far Away

I walked over to the phone
To see if you were on the end
You cried
Tears dripping from the holes
Directly in my ear canal
Now I can't seem to get it out
It's pooling all around my brain
If I can't ever get it out
I'm sure it will make me insane

In time the pools will dry up
But they will leave a residue
That makes me act a little strange
And question what I thought was true
Our lives are rather meaniningless
The farther back you stand from them
They serve to only distract us
From what will happen in the end

Far away you see more clearly
All the things that you fear won't really
Matter anymore
Even though it seems so important to you now
Forget about the things that you could have said
Holding on will just keep you in your head
Oh what is it all for?
Come inside and take your foot out of the door
At times we feel we're in control
Can feel our fate between our hands
It's soft and easy to reshape
It conforms to all our plans
Although that's not always the case
No matter how hard we will try
I know someday we'll find a place
Where we can stay until we die
