Dark in Here (The Jordan Lake Sessions Volume 3)
Steal away at sundown, pick a place to hide
Check for signs of ambush, hunker down inside
Tired of running, tired of never standing still
Hear them riding up the hill
Men whose ribs are showing through their skin, bringing up the rear
It's high noon somewhere, it's dark in here
Stack my ammunition, be ready when you come
You who thirst for action, I will give you some
When the smoke dies down, you can rest assure
We will know who kept his word
You who stood so proud once, I can taste your fear
You blazed like torches, it's dark in here
It's dark as a coal mine, filling up with gas
I stand ready for the blast
Will you be ready, when your moment comes?
Will your hand be steady, when you reach down for your guns?
Did you leave your house in order, when you came for me?
Is this really where you meant to be?
Just beyond your limits, find the new frontier
I live in the darkness, it's dark in here
Thank you
Thank you very much
Y'all, I'm in a room with two other people and Matt
And Chris behind the boards there
And uh
(Yeah! Woo!) Thank you guys, thank you very much (you're rolling)
Alright, thank you very much
Uhm
Let's see what I can find
Uh
Well, everybody, keep a good thought for this one
It's never been played live
Uh, we got, uhm
Uh, a bunch of requests, right?
And uhm, and I'll be, a-, ten thousand percent real with you
There were so many requests that I could have just written a set list
And claimed that it was made up of requests, right?
And cheated, but that's not my style
So, I spent this morning, uh and some of yesterday going through stuff and going
"Okay that, I could never play that"
And I thought to myself, "Why not try?"
You know, we can try
We have cameras and memory cardsamd stuff but not that many memory cards
So I got like not be doing like ten takes of everything, uhm
So uhm, this was hard to figure out
Uhm, in part because I didn't own a tuner
We just record it
Check for signs of ambush, hunker down inside
Tired of running, tired of never standing still
Hear them riding up the hill
Men whose ribs are showing through their skin, bringing up the rear
It's high noon somewhere, it's dark in here
