Apathetic Complacency

I'll be gone in 60 years
It's a most sobering fear
To live a life paralyzed by apathy
Counting the days until it catches me

So where do I go from here?
Wait for a route to appear?
It's easy to get lost in the entropic brew
If I know anything, I know it's nothing new

And the birds will sing
Yet never worry about a thing
How simple a life it must be
Lean on apathetic complacency

Feeling such strong content
Only lends itself to contempt
How frustratingly naïve it's to feel as though
You have discovered the lowest that you can go

But now's my turn in the cosmic soup
And I'll be damned if I let it fall through
It is a silly life that we must lead
Break from apathetic complacency
