'21

Seventeen years ago, Sarah sat with me
In the woods in seventh grade in Knoxville, Tennessee
Black and orange bodies from the brood cover the land
And a red and white blanket is covering our hands

Kiss me in the closet of our best friend's basement bedroom
With a door so thin that every single sound can get through
We step out and our friends laugh but I don't really care
I lay down and listen to the buzzing in the air

In seventeen more years I hope to see the brood again
Think back on '21 like I think back on Sarah then
