The Feast

I wander the streets for victims
Looking for someone
I can feast on

I must quench my thirst
For human blood
I must drink the blood
Of an unwilling subject

I have no choice
But to take someones life
I have become far too drained
To continue ignoring my cravings

I see a boy wandering lonely
Just as I was that fateful night

I approach him
My new appearance
Sends him into a pit of shock
It's my time to strike

I lean in
To bite
He begins to weep
His cries cut deeper than any knife

It hurts internally
But I can't bring myself to stop
This new power
Overcomes me

I feel alive again
The words of that monster
Repeat in my head
This new gift he has given me
Is greater than any sum of money
Any fame

I am grateful for this change
I must find new ways
To live
