The Stillness

On an autumn day I was staring out the window
And everything, it was motionless
Like a painting in the silence
So I go outside

Walking through the leaves
In my head is not a voice
Not even my own
They crunch under my feet
But they don't make a single noise
I feel at peace

In the stillness I discover I'm the happiest I've ever been
Staring at the sunset, hoping that the evening never ends
And the sky is full of colors that our eyes can't comprehend
And I'm crying tears of joy even though I know I'm dead

Oh

Seeing the leaves fall from the tree
Because now they're a part of me
Throwing my cares into the air
Because now I can't care
