The Mount

Now take salt, an interesting grain
It can save you just about anything
Sometimes as precious as any pearl
Understand you are the salt of the world

But if the salt has lost it's savor, nothing else has any flavor
This is news that's long overdue
This world is lost without you
Everyone would dwell in darkness
Do all the wrong things regardless
Of the degree of sin and shame
They'll even sit back and curse God's name

Verily, I say unto you
Listen hard, for this is true
Let he that has an ear
Open on up so he can hear

Straight and narrow is God's way
This is what the Spirit has to say
I come to sit up on this mount to tell you what life is all about

Truth is the light, that's the law
It shows you all that is right, without flaw
I'm here to open your eyes, boys and girls
Understand, you are the light of the world
You're pilgrims in a strange land
It's been this way since time began

They open eyes but they don't see
That's why they live in such misery
No one lights a candle under a bushel
So that it fades out without a doubt
You put it high upon a candle stick
Let your light shine before men
That's the trick

You have heard in the times of old
Swear not by heaven cuz it's God's throne
This is not just any rule
For he uses the earth as his own foot stool

Don't do your alms before men
Just to be seen again and again
Do everything for the Father in secret
As long as you haven't run out of breath yet

Our Father which art in heaven
Your name is holy, I live for the day when
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
Thine is the glory where I'm com'in from
