Musings

If there ever is a chance again
To undo what I've done in life
I'll go back to the moment we began
When I saw in you my future wife
For in your smile my aches just vanished
Your caresses were heavenly
And of the moments I most relished
Were when you were you and I was me

I'm done with writing notes of regret
Consigning hope to the sunset
But if there's something that time hasn't dimmed
It's the light of loving in your eyes
And in your smile my worries melted
Your silent presence was eloquent
Of all the moments that love permeated
I cherish most when you and I were one

If there never comes a chance again
To undo what I've done in life
Those memories will always ease the pain
And like a salve help me survive
