Totem

I was born in budapest
a peaceful neighborhood
food was on the table every day my momma cooked
another story from the books
nothing to complain about
went to a private school and i studied like i should
my daddy working hard like he should've been a role model
momma stayed thirsty just so i could have the whole bottle
furniture from ikea
guess you get the idea
middle class little checks driving like it's sightseeing
then we switched a country for the better life
surveillance and satellites
safety on the windows
schooled international that's where i got the lingo
started smoking weed i started forgetting my pin code
limbo
higher class classmates so i went to class high
they told me lower my voice
so i lowered my test grades
i started writing lyrics and it took up my head space
at the time i was 15
two personalities
like call of duty split screen
i knew my anatomy

took my first ex on accident
sex on the maximum
volume to the ceiling
okay co lee making tracks again
focused on the testament
rapping on the daily
four younger siblings had me treated like a baby
that's the reason birdy
had to leave the cage so early
barely even graduated ain't a thing could hurt me
so i told my mom "do the best" i'm going back to budapest
then i packed my shit took a train and dipped superfast
already a polymath if you wanna call it that
i was into everything my parents thought was prolly bad
clown school dropout collar bones pop out
smoking on the venue, flowing like the danube
i represented everything at the same time
but everything was nothing if i had to stay high
my life became the totem that i gotta pray by
imma stay namaste watch me raise high
this is Co.
