When I Was Your Age

When I was your age
I would find the biggest tree
Climb it without fear
Reaching for every limb
Look out across the town
And search for what I can see
I remember the days
Climbing in that tree
When I was your age I would climb

When I was your age
I'd count the kids in the room
Remember all their names
And where they'd go when they finish school
Now I couldn't tell you
One who lived their dreams
Many there end broken
Drowning in the stream
Drowning in the stream of life

If I was your age
I would never fear the cold
I'd try to do as many things
So I'd be happy when I'm old
I would of talked to those girls
Who looked at me at times
I would of jumped off that cliff
So I'd remember that day in my life
If I was your age I would jump

If I was your age
I'd value all that was mine
I'd try to hold to my friends
So I'd not lose them when it's time
I wouldn't waste a moment
Because I know how precious it is
But most of all I'd say I love you
To all that have gone and I miss
If I was your age I would love
