Prisoner

Eyes are closed as he lays in the mouth of the cave
And the cold fills his bones as he carves out the days
With a stone he's alone but he writes anyways
In a daze it's a maze tell him which way to go
Up above or below he wished they would show
Icarus touched the sun didn't tell anyone oh no
He screams and he wails never to be heard
He's just a prisoner there's much to be learned
And his life starts to fade as he ponders his evil ways

He sees the light for the first time
It's not too late to be freed from his own mind

His luck has run out there's dirt in his mouth
He abhors his own face he waits for a clout
To his head put to bed through with his waning life
He weeps and he prays he needs to be saved
He's alone he's afraid he needs to see straight
But his eyes they are swoll and red from the wretched rain

Break the chain of reason
Change your mind like seasons

Construct of creation
Captive of relation
Shackled by vocation
Trapped in isolation
Victim of temptation
Symptom of desperation
Mass incarceraton
Time for contemplation

We're constrained by oppression
This is my last confession
The prisoner
