Fire and Famine

When I was a younger man
Hazy Blue eyed epicurean
Worshipping of blood and bones
The ancient ones from way back home

Saddled in the cedar swamp
A creak flowing without thought
Gravity it's choice is made
But chaos springs from little things

Stones we laid one cold September
A path towards nature to remember
How we owe the forests fathers
Blood and bones and bones and blood

The fire and the famine the feast and the flood
listen to the wind
Weaving around everything but where did it begin
Over past the county line
They make it in the city and send it down sometime
