My People Cry
My People Cry
My People Cry each and every time
That we lose another black life
My people cry
For every siren for every blue light
Because to be black is still a crime
My People Cried
For 400 years to be precise
Yet you say to forget but at what price
Because My people have tried
To just live their ordinary lives
Where they are punished for being black
While you are rewarded for being white
My people have died
Yet we are still to see the light
That dream still to be seen with our eyes
The same one for which our king died
So now Our kings and queens must rise
400 hundreds years on we are still not free
So I ask you alll when will we be
No longer the victim
Imprisoned by a system
Where we keep on losing
While the oppressors are winning
For we are black but we are human
And our patience is thinning
I see the riots, I see the looting
I hear a 4 hundred year old song my people singing
When will you let my people go
Wary eyed but my people please do not lose hope
For we climb that mountain of despair
It will no longer matter if ya skin be dark
Or if your skin be fair
You will be judged upon the content of character
And not by the contents of your skin
When Black Lives Matter
All Lives will Win
So please do not let them press that knee
They can no longer suppress
They will hear our voices they will hear our dream
As they heard our cries and heard our distress
They to will longer be able to breath
Till racism has had its last breathe
For we do not seek revenge but we demand
Liberation
Not compensation but reparations
For now is the time
To get up stand up and rise
Put up a fight for your rights
It has been a long time coming
But together we stand no longer running
My people a change is coming
And that change will come
So keep on shouting beating that drum
Til our battle is won
For we are black and we are proud
They will hear it from the hilltops in the valleys way past the clouds
Black is beautiful and Black is just wow
Black is everything so please do not doubt
For we overcome when others do not know how
We have smiled in the face of pain
Been free even in their chains
Liberated even in the oppression we are against
See a change is in these waters
Not matter who comes in the way
We will not sit down and follow orders
This tide will no longer sway
For our people have been hung slung lynched shot and left for slaughtered
But not our sons sons or our daughters daughters
See enough is enough
For We are no longer your slaves
For you to abuse, beat up
So masters we shall not obey
For this is the time for change
We no longer play your games
For our own people we will create
And if you are to remain silent
You are complicit in the violence
In the mountain my people are climbing
Now Time is running out
Time for actions, not words with our mouths
For this is our time of hour
Now is not the time to cower
Stand with ya fist shout black power
For together we stand, divided we fall
Lets end my peoples cries once and for all
My People Cry each and every time
That we lose another black life
My people cry
For every siren for every blue light
Because to be black is still a crime
